It's been a long while. Hope everyone is enjoying their leaves :)
It's true that good times never last, and regrettably, there are some things that have to be done now. I seek your cooperation in this. Final 2 weeks of our time together.
1. PC Boshen has just recently informed me that we are going to be evicted from our bunks. So everyone is required to book in on the 3rd of Jan 2011, muster by 0730H to clear their bunks.
3rd of Jan I suppose is a holiday in lieu of new year, but because the 33rd batch is coming in on the 4th so we're required to vacate our bunks by the 3rd. The off day will be compensated.
You can drive in to help in removing your barang barang from the bunks, but please do not speed in camp and drive if you drink.
In view of the 33rd total strength, now standing at 50 plus coming over to UDG. All our bunks will be used and I guess we'll be staying out. Negotiations are undergoing for the opponents to staying out, however because 33rd batch takes priority for the rooms, nothing is guaranteed yet.
FAQs.
- What do we need to de-kit and what can we bring home?
Ans: We'll clarify with everyone on the 3rd morning.
- What if I decide to report sick on the 3rd?
Ans: Get ready to sign 1206 for everything liable in your 1206 in your bunk. Amen.
- What if I have appointment on the 3rd?
Ans: If it's a half day appointment, you have half day left to clear the bunks. If you have appointment at 9am and I-dunno-how-you-make-it-6pm (aka whole day appointment), read the answer above.
2. Everyone is required to write a no less than 400 words ORD reflection and send it to wuhiong@gmail.com and 31batch@gmail.com by next friday, 7th Jan 2011. Instructions from MSG Tan.
3. Frantic Seng Fatt Auntie has been harassing warrant officers from DvS and UDG to get our batch to clear our debts before we ORD. Now the debt is standing at 40 plus dollars. I do not know who owe the money, but there's already a list tabulated. Highest amount owed is 20 bucks, I heard. I'll update you all on that on the 3rd too. Please bring enough money to pay up. You know what you did to SENG FATT AUNTIES :)
4. Our kind batchboy who has a mixed blood of China and Korea and bears an extremely hot surname, CFC Xie Chang Jin, is helping our batch to make a class video for ORD. I'm very appreciative for his effort on that because if he doesn't make the move, no one else will. If you say you'd, DON'T LIE. haha. And war is about to start at one of his homeland, Korea. Let him quickly finish this work so he can go protect his country. Edgar especially, don't start the war with the South before Chang Jin go back.
Anyway, to help ease his load and to assist him, would everyone please send him every decent photos you have of 31st batch, be it glam, unglam, decent, vulgar, straight, gay, clothed, semi naked, naked or pictures that make you wonder, "is that a cleavage or a butt crack?". Please zip it up and send it to Chang Jin at homerun115@hotmail.com
5. Last but not least, a belated Merry Christmas and an early HAPPY 2011 to all my batchboys who have went through shit and more shit with me for the past 1 year 9 months. Just 2 more weeks and we'll be heading different directions in life. Like, JK will have to go back to his throne in heaven and Kok Feng will be counselling girls who have problem with sex. We may not even meet in future cos we're mortals and we're guys. So treasure the last few moments together. I'm proud to be in 31st and I hope you're :)

And the time of the year has come for all of us to do our ORD FFI! :D (I can hear our cheers and excitement in front of my com.)
Here are the dates scheduled:
I'm very sorry to inform CFC Lee Jun Kang, CO (headache) Soh Wee Kweng, Chan Kok Feng and Timothy Chew (AKA The legendary Condor and Yang Guo), that they are not allocated any slots for this FFI, most probably due to the case that they are PTP or probably the whole world wishes to see Yang Guo and the legendary condor to have a showdown in SMC or Nee Soon Dental Centre, where medical attention would be given almost immediately should there be a need. Sorry Kweng, I know you want the FFI soon, but I do hope it doesn't give you a big HEADACHE now that it's at a later date :) *peace :D
A major concern for many people is what if their FFI clashes with their overseas trip? Fear not, just simply tell me(felix) and also fill in the dates that you're overseas on the class noticeboard by sunday night, latest monday and we'll do the necessary arrangement. Should you fail to do that, and you fail to go for your FFI, it's not all that bad though you can't ORD on 17th Jan. Cos you won yourself a front row seat to the once in a century Legendary Condor and Yang Guo show down together with JK and Kweng in Jan! Kweng, I hope I add one or two more people to your FFI queue won't give you a bad HEADACHE :) *peace :D
Oh, for people whose appointment dates so suay suay falls on their FFI dates, I'd recommend you to change it. Or else, you can seek advices from our professional team of "APPOINTMENT HOLDERS" namely, CO (APPT): Quan Feng, OC (APPT): Junius and PC (APPT): Aloysius. However, please follow the change of command and there may be days in camp where all three may not be present for consultation. Advices not guaranteed :)
I also recommend that all stay fit and healthy for the FFI. So should you need advice on how to keep yourself clean and stay hygienic, we too have our hygiene specialists: Ian Yong and OPS (Try differentiating them, it's hard. Really hard.) who can give you precious tips on how to keep your HANDS CLEAN and free from things ranging from dirt to WARTS and of course, top quality maintenance of your nasal passage to keep germs away from entering you *peace :)
That's about all for FFI. Last thing to note is that PC Boshen requires all to present during this coming monday's morning brief unless their appointment falls before 0900H. We need to help him stitch back his asshole as it was torn last friday by CPT Lek. If his asshole tears further, his shit will fall on us and things will smell and get a little unpleasant in camp :)

I was just thinking a moment before, that for all we've been doing for NDP. As much as it takes up our Saturdays, we're actually doing something pretty meaningful that we don't realise of yet. Being that we're in the biggest show of the nation and that it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, not to mention GOH too. There are people out there who want to perform in NDP, as a dancer, part of the human displays and even as a support crew. This is a show guys. And from where we are as the GOH, we're an important part of this. For your honour, for our honour, and subtly... for our nation.. Let us do this well and not let it slip away "as just another part of NS"...

So i was thinking, since many of us signed up for this year end's SCSM, and that we dont have army half marathon to go for anymore, let's go for this 15k and at least keep ourselves at the long distance runs for a while (:

And reminder to all, please go book your appointment if your dental status is going to expire. Anyway, Shane's in charge of dental status so if you forget your expiry date, do approach him. He's monitoring all dental status closely.
Last but not least,
Book in time for Monday Night is 2230. I've stated it clearly here. So whoever who breaks the rule will get the deserving punishment, with no room for negotiation.

2. We all know that we need to write reflections for our trip, so here are some guidelines provided by Eugene to guide us on how to write them.

Reflection Guidelines
The following are some pointers you may like to write about to help you in your reflection. You don’t have to follow them strictly though. Best is if you write something which means most to you, to make this trip even more significant, for yourself.
- What are the events in this trip that were most significant to yourself?
- How did these events enrich/challenge the way you think and affect how you will do things in future?
- Did any happenings reinforced your beliefs or values? What are they and in what way?
- How does this experience in Taiwan relate to the greater picture of you serving National Service?
- Does this experience in Taiwan evoke more meaning and purpose to what you do as a Diver? Yes or no and why?
Length Requirement
All of us are required to write at least 500 words on your reflection. Guess it isn’t too long and is an appropriate length for you to reflect and make meaning out of it trip.
- Main Batch: 500 words
- The MIDs, Songhon and Nat: 1000 words
- Aloysius Goh: 500 words in Chinese

As promised I will update this blog with info about the upcoming overseas trip. Please read in detail.
1. What will happen on Friday 07 MAY 2010
i) We will report at1730H 1700H at the Check in counter of China Airlines located in
Changi Airport Terminal 1.
ii) Report in
Collar T-shirt, jeans with shoes
2. Flight Details
i) 07 MAY 2010
CI 758, estimated time of departure from SINGAPORE is 1930H.
ii) 18 MAY 2010
CI 757, estimated time of arrival to SINGAPORE is 1815H.
3. What to bring
Our duffel bag will act as our luggage and we are allowed to have another hand carry luggage.
However please refer to here for guidelines on hand carry luggage so we don't get into unnecessary trouble.
4. FYI (especially Kok Feng)
5. Liberty group (that's the best I can do)
6. Duty groups
A brief intro on the duty groups
Trash Group
-Main job is to clear all trash bags at the accommodation block everyday
-Clear cut and obvious
Ration Group
-Obviously doing ration
-In charge of clearing the trash from the cookhouse
Staircase Group
-In charge of sweeping the stairs everyday. Highest record by 30 batch is 10 times for a day.
Toilet Group
-Toilets are in your charge. Please remember to constantly refill toilet rolls :)
I'll leave it to the group i/c how you want to run the show for your group, BUT please keep me inform about it. Best if you can do it black and white for eg, duty rooster for who is going to change to toilet rolls.
7. Miscellaneous
-Please remember to bring along your thermometer.
-If your passport is with you, remember to photocopy your passport (applies to Kah Fai and Terry)
-Bring along universal plug because the sockets at Taiwan is different from Singapore and your charger will not work without it.

ans: Most probably not, so you're advised to have your meal before reporting at 1700H
ii. Need bring bedsheet?
ans: No.
iii. Where's my passport?
ans: No fear, they are with me.

v. Can I own program in Taiwan?
ans: FUCK YOU!

It's been long since our hellweeker shirts are given to us, so it's time to wear it in camp. Bring in all your hellweeker T-shirt. Not MR. HELLWEEKER, but the official hellweeker T-shirt. We'll start wearing it in camp with effect from this week (unless someone screw it up again)

a short update.
1. Monday at 1230pm, we will all meet at the entrance of Tuas Naval Base. Attire is strictly Polo T-shirt, jeans and proper shoes. Hello people!
News update.
1. Book in by 2230 on 07 Feb 2010.
2. Please photocopy your 11B (both sides) for administrative purposes.
3. This is something new, please bring 25 dollars for payment of some admin stuff for UDG. Hand in your money on sunday night to Kristen, our class treasurer.
4. CZ LOW, our oldest man has something to say.
Hey class, Zisky will be going sentosa every last saturday of each month. He will be at cafe del mar to relax and chill. It's relatively cheap to hangout there with minimum spending of 20 bucks for a day. The cafe itself will have events and party, so no worries about entertainment. We can also go there to play frisbee, beach soccer, volleyball or any other thing you can think of. So join him at sentosa every last saturday of each month to chill out and relax.
So people, the old man has spoken. It's our turn now. hahaha
People, this week no videos. Shall share sth to all of you. It's not for the faint hearted, but then again, who's fainted hearted in 31? :)

news update.
1. BOOK IN TUESDAY, 2nd FEB 2010 @ 2230. Divers' Gold and those who ran below 9:14 are allowed to book in in t-shirt and bermudas. All socks above ankle and only covered shoes are allowed. For the rest, it's still polo t-shirt and jeans. If you're caught (and i'm seriously going to catch) being in inappropriate attire. We shall scrap the whole deal and everyone shall book in in t-shirt and jeans forever or worst still, no.4 / no.3 uniform. I mean it. Play by the rules guys :)
2. Bring all your cleaning tools next week for book in. You guys seriously need them cause the bunks are seriously very dirty. So for a clean living environment, please bring the tools to clean your new bunks thoroughly. Also, there will be standby bed for both 29 and UDG block, so be prepared people.
3. The safety slogan competition is back again due to "popular" demands. Everyone is suppose to hand in a safety slogan by Tuesday night. Note: A slogan is not a poster, so it's very easy to do :)
4. If you have any things to help decorate the UDG block noticeboard, do bring them on tuesday night. I've already some funny things in mind. heh! :D
The following is admin instructions to all.
1. All BTT or tests unrelated to SAF will no longer enjoy the privilege of off passes, instead leaves will be deducted if you need to attend to such tests. So Eugene, Eric and Gabriel are the last lucky ones.
2. DO NOT. I SERIOUSLY REPEAT. DO NOT ask sir morgan for any canteen break or seng fatt break, or even liberty. The deal will be out next week according to what was discussed this week (some of you weren't present, but rest assured you are not shortchanged in any way.) Seriously guys, time to know what to do and what not to do. Respect the rank please.

hello 31st batch brothers,
here's the news update for this week.
1. Your primary concern about booking in time. Sad to say, it still stays the same. BOOK IN AT 2230 on 24th Jan 2010.
2. 5 person will be going for dental at nee soon camp everyday from 25th Jan 2010 onwards. The time slot is from 0830 to 1030. The names will be up by Sunday night cos' planning is still undergoing. Attire for dental is no.3 uniform.
3. Since notification of all medical appointments are to be done 1 week in advance, hence i make it a rule for all appointments to be made known to 3SG Jonathan Chua on Sunday or by monday night one week before your appointment.
For instance, if your appointment falls on the week of 8th Feb to 12th Feb 2010.
31st Jan 2010 and 1st Feb will be your latest dates to inform 3SG Jonathan Chua, if not late notification of appointments will result in your appointment being rejected, unless reason for late notification is justifiable. (FORGET IS NOT JUSTIFIABLE) Earlier notifications will definitely be welcome anyway. Also, all off pass will be issued on the Monday of every week as much as possible. So, it is your responsibility to follow Felix to the morning brief at 0730 on Monday morning if you want your off pass for your appointments. Similarly, off pass will not be issued if you don't go, because if you don't care about your appointment, why should I? :)
4. Please bring 45 bucks to pay for the diving license that we want so badly. So do bring it.
5. Also, bring 20 bucks to pay Kristen for JK and Kok Feng.
Last but not least, punishments for mistakes made by individuals in the class will be discussed and finalise very soon. If you have any suggestions for punishments, do comment below. (you may do so anonymously) And brothers, please do not challenge the system for things wouldn't be nice if higher authorities have to step in. If punishments are meted out, do carry them out LIKE A MAN and not shun away from it LIKE A WUSS. But honestly, punishments are always a last resort, so we wish we don't have to resort to it. We just seek cooperation and discipline.However, every class will bound to have class sluts SIGH.

Hey people, here's our class blog which makes things easy for us to relay messages. or remind you of anything needed to be completed by the end of this week. So let me start off with what's needed to be done by this coming book in, 17th Jan 2010.
1. One liner related to Total Defence, starting with "I will". By this Sunday, write down on a piece of paper.

2. All required gears and equipment to be in camp this week. No excuses people.
3. Official IPPT this coming Tuesday, 19th Jan 2010. Please go do a bit of running to exercise your rusty joints
4. All illegal items to be removed from camp by this week. If you need to book in early to remove them, please do so. Thank you. *My stand on PSP is that it's without memory stick.do anything but dont get caught
5. Next Monday & Tuesday and Thursday & Friday, there's gonna be fire-fighting course. The class is split into two teams. First team will go on Monday and Tuesday, the second will go on Thurs and Fri. Refer to list below.
6. Passport size photos X 04 to be handed in by Sunday night. Please don't screw this up.
Last but not least, feel free to tag and to maintain the main purpose of the blog (to pass down info) the password of the blog will only be contain within the leaders, just so to prevent confusion.
